What can we do this summer?
Amusement parks will be open

Last Summer, amusement parks were completely or partially closed due to the pandemic. Not this summer! The Sundevil Times has compiled a list of local amusement parks that will be open this summer and the COVID-19 rules park goers must follow.
Busch Gardens:
- Currently open with reservations
- Before entering you must undergo a temperature screening (must be under 100.4 degrees)
- Employees and guests must wear face masks while in the park, with the exception of kids 2 and under and unless you are eating or drinking
- Must be worn over mouth and nose and be secured under chin
- No masks with exhalation valves
- Must be secured around the head or through ear loops
- No mesh or holes
- No costume masks
- Social distancing will be enforced in lines (6ft or more)
- Sanitizing stations throughout the park
Attractions available: Griffon, Invadr, DaVinci’s Cradle, The Trade Wind, Kinder Karussel, Grover’s Alpine Express, Apollo’s Chariot, Finnegan’s Flyer, The Little Balloons, Busch Gardens Railways, Der Roto Baron, Oscar’s
Ocean Breeze:
- Opening day is May 22nd
- Team members and guests must undergo a health screening prior to entering the park and your temperature must be under 100.4
- Masks are not permitted on rides or in the water
- Masks must be worn inside all buildings which include restrooms, changing rooms, restaurants, and gift shops (team members required to wear a face mask in every area of the park)
- Must practice social distancing and there are safety ambassadors to remind you to do so
- Hand sanitizing stations are placed throughout the park
- Team members are assigned duties to disinfect handrails, deck seating, tabletops, tubes, door handles, and other surfaces
- Certain areas or rides may be temporarily closed for safety reasons, for enhanced sanitation, or to maintain social distancing.
- Life jackets are sanitized after every use but you must get one from guest relations
- Slides are allowed to open under the current executive order. Rides are subject to availability. The Logroll is currently closed to maintain social distancing.
- Capacity is limited in wave pool, Adventure River, Hook’s Lagoon Children’s Play area, and the TropiCool Pool
- Capacity within the park will follow the CDC’s guidelines as they change it overtime
Kings Dominion:
- Open to the general public on May 22 and Soak City water park is opening May 29
- Open with limited capacity
- Visitors must schedule ahead to visit and at least one member of the group must have the mobile app on their phone to show park reservation
- All guests and associates must wear masks while in the park, except for eating or drinking in designated areas or if it is a child under the age of 2
- Health checks/screenings are required before entering the park
- Hand sanitizing stations have been placed throughout the park
- Masks cannot have vents or exhalation valves
- Must have contactless payment such as card or Apple/Android Pay
- Some rides and attractions are closed as they are unable to provide proper social distancing
- Regarding dining, they use all disposable products and tables are distant from each other
- All indoor entertainment is closed
Water Country:
- Opens May 22
- Reservations are required
- Once arrived, you must undergo a temperature screening (must be under 100.4 degrees)
- Face masks must be worn in retail areas, restaurants, restrooms, exit/entrance, and other designated areas
- Face masks are NOT permitted in the water
- Guests are recommended to keep a distance of 6 feet at all times
- Sanitizing areas have been placed throughout the park
- Certain rides and attractions will be closed due to covid safety procedures
- Capacity is limited
- Recommended to use contactless payments
