As we walk through our school day, class after class, do we ever notice the people who keep us safe? Maybe we see them, but we don’t really know them. Let’s get to know our security assists a little better.
Keena Bailey
Q: How long have you been a security assist at Salem?
A: “Three years.”
Q: What are some of your hobbies and interests?
A:“ Music, teaching, and vacationing.”
Q: What’s your favorite part of working here?
A: “The students.”
Candace DeJarnette
Q: How long have you been a security assist at Salem?
A: “I have been a security assistant for 16 years here at Salem.”
Q: What are some of your hobbies and interests?
A: “I like spending time with my family. I love going to see my family in Florida. I love food, all kinds of food.”
Q: What’s your favorite part of working here?
A: “My favorite part of working at Salem is getting to know the students. Just seeing them in the future like how they started in 9th grade and how they mature by the time that they get to 12th grade and they usually come back and visit when they are in college.”

Q: How long have you been a security assist at Salem?
A: “I started as an ISS coordinator and I’ve been security for four years, so five years total.”
Q: What are some of your hobbies and interests?
A: “Motorcycles are my hobby.”
Q: What’s your favorite part of working here?
A: “Interacting with the kids and seeing them progress through the grades and then graduate.”

Q: How long have you been a security assist at Salem?
A: “I have been here for 3 weeks.”
Q: What are some of your hobbies and interests?
A: “I either go fishing or hunting.”

A: “Interacting with the staff and the students”

Q: How long have you been a security assist at Salem?
A: I have been working here for 4-5 months.
Q: What are some of your hobbies and interests?
A: “Engineering, music, graphic design, and I cook.”
Q: What’s your favorite part of working here?
A: “The kids.”

A: “I have been here since February.”
Q: What are some of your hobbies and interests?
A: “I love the Stealers, and in my free time I love picking up my saxophone and just jamming out to some tunes.”
Q:What’s your favorite part of working here?
A: “I like the kids and I like the fact that I am sort of responsible for their well being.”
