Forensics is a highly competitive VHSL activity and senior J Belin has been leaving the competition in their dust.

“I did debate in middle school and I wanted to get involved in a similar activity,” said Belin. “Forensics got my attention and I was interested in joining freshman year, but I was nervous so I waited until sophomore year.”

Belin took to Forensics right away.

This season Belin has won:

1st Place in the Tournament of Champions

3rd Place at VHSL Regionals

1st Place at VHSL Super-Regionals

Two 1st Place and one 3rd Place medal at the TFL season

3rd place at the VHSL State championships.

“My category is very politically focused,” said Belin, “So I plan on using my public speaking skills paired with my political knowledge to go into some sort of career in government.”

Senior Sophia Melendez describes Belin as “diligent, conscientious, dedicated, persistent, and a busy-bee.”

No matter what Belin does they always put one-hundred percent as shown in their forensics success.

“J is unique and authentic, joyful and serious,” said Theater Teacher Mrs. Sharon Byrd.
