Between all the new teachers and a nearly entirely new administrative staff, there are a lot of new faces for students to get acquainted with. One of our new assistant principals is Dr. Dana Cho.
“I was reassigned to be at Salem High School by [the] Dept. of School Leadership, and I love the diversity of the student body,” said Dr. Cho.
Not only is Dr. Cho happy to be here, but the rest of the administration is happy to have her.
“Knowledgeable— She has a wealth of experience; anytime you take a few minutes to talk to her, you always learn something new!” said fellow, also new to Salem, Assistant Principal G. Thomas Coker.
Dr. Cho’s intelligence and resourcefulness has already come in handy. She jumped right into work by making a staff reference page that Assistant Principal Gregory Moxley described as “super helpful.”
“She’s been at a lot of different schools, she’s got a lot of experience, and she brings perspectives that are really good for me to be exposed to and good for Salem to be its best,” said Moxley.
Dr. Cho has years of dedication and commitment working at other schools that have prepared her for the position.
“I was an assistant principal at Kellam High School,” said Dr. Cho. “I was a special education teacher at Salem Middle School. It has been about 14 years.”
As an experienced educator and administrator, Dr. Cho brings a lot to the table.
“I admire her work ethic. I knew Dr. Cho before through colleagues and anyone that you talked to about Dr. Cho would say how amazing she is,” said Moxley. “Nobody has anything but positive things to say about her, and I think it’s because she works really hard and she’s intentional about how hard she works and that comes across.”
Dr. Cho brings her positive work ethic and positive attitude with her every day.
“The genuine caring and welcoming environment shared amongst students and staff [makes Salem unique]. You can see and feel it every day!” said Dr. Cho.
The administrators work hard to make Salem the best place it can be. Dr. Cho’s hard work and eagerness to better the school is already benefiting the entire student body. If you see her in the halls, be sure to say hi and thank her for all she does.
