Q1. Why did you choose to go into teaching?

Through teaching, I am able to do many things that I love, including helping others, solving problems, and being creative.

Q2. What’s your favorite thing about being an educator here at Salem?

My favorite thing about Salem is the students. Salem is my alma mater, so it has a special place in my heart.

Q3. How did you feel when you were awarded Teacher of the Year?

I was happy to be recognized for years of hard work. There are truly many amazing teachers at Salem.

Q4. What is something that you want the Salem community to know about you?

I love dogs. When I retire from teaching, I hope to foster and adopt as many dogs as I can.

Shelby is a sophomore in her first year writing for SunDevil Times. She loves fluffy cows and anything fluffy for that matter. She wants a farm with 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 fluffy cows, 2 ferrets, a bunny, and a goat. She loves watching movies, anime, and tv shows. She also loves writing in her spare time and she mostly plays old video games and from time to time the new ones. Her favorite color is purple and wants it on her dream car.
