Our former Attendance Secretary Mrs. Sarina Soorani moved up to a position with the Department of Human Resources. Those of us who have trouble getting to class on time will be the first to meet Mrs. Stacy Andrews, our new Attendance Secretary.
Where are you from?
I’m originally from Texas, but I came here from California. My husband is in the Navy, so that’s why we’re here. I’m a mother and I’m a hardcore baseball fan. I like the St. Louis Cardinals!
What are some responsibilities of an Attendance Secretary?
To make sure kids get to class on time, to make sure that they have the appropriate passes to be in the hallways, and to make sure the attendance for all the students in the school is documented correctly.
How did you become our Attendance Secretary?
I was originally the Data Tech at Princess Anne High School, but I live over here and my son, Braden, went here for four years. He graduated in 2022, and my daughter will be here in the fall so I saw an opening and I took it.
How has Salem been treating you so far?
Everyone’s very, very nice! Always been very welcome, even some of the teachers that my son had, they have always been great!
Do you have any advice for students about getting to class on time?
Wake up earlier! Try your hardest, be aware of the time, and prepare.
