According to HealthlifeAcademy, dodgeball “encourages teamwork and communication” and “improves social skills to build satisfactory self-confidence and trust in the team.”
This game is very popular, especially in American schools. This will be our second annual dodgeball tournament in which students may sign up to compete.
The Tournament is one of the many fundraisers the class of 24 is sponsoring around the school. This helps them earn money for prom or graduation. To sign up, you must have a form showing that you have seven students, one being the team’s captain, the support of one teacher, and an appropriate team name. This is when you and your teammates get together and sign your waivers. All of you must sign a three-page liability waiver provided by the school and the captain of the team must fill in the QR code given. It provides you with the rules, risk of injuries, and many other items from the VBCPS Student Code of Conduct.
The SHS dodgeball tournament will be exciting and feature a halftime show and an all-star game.
“It’s a fun event, although it has friendly competition,” said sponsor Mrs. Mary Stevenson.
Go see the action on Wednesday, March 13th, at 6:00 pm. Entry is free!
