Now, Academy seniors, I don’t want to scare you, but you only have one more step toward graduation. As your final projects are in full swing, be aware of one requirement: you must see two other strands’ senior projects! Of course, you may be scrambling now, but do not worry! Here is a comprehensive list of each senior project with the date, time, and a short summary of what you will be seeing.

Vocal Strand Senior Concert
The concert will be held May 23rd in the auditorium. It will start at 7pm. The concert consists of each of the seniors performing solos, with two group pieces at the end. A line up of the performers and their pieces are as such:

Theater Strand Fringe Festival: Patchwork
The festival will take place May 10th and 11th at 7:00 pm at Virginia Wesleyan University, in the Susan S. Goode Theater. Essentially, Fringe Festival is where the theater students write plays, then direct each other’s plays. They are cast with underclassmen theater students as well as other academy and fine arts students. Seniors in other strands in fringe, if you are cast, it counts as one of your performances!

The Gallery is being held at Zeiders American Dream Theater, with the opening reception on May 23rd from 5:30-6:30, and the gallery will be up from May 16th-May 29th. Dance Strand’s Senior Concert: Beyond the Mask
The performance will take place on May 30th at 7pm in Salem’s auditorium.. Essentially, the seniors choreograph 1-4 dances and have either fellow seniors or the underclassmen act as their dancers. Some of the seniors may opt to be a dancer rather than a choreographer. At the end, the seniors each do a group dance choreographed by Mrs. Flint. As of right now, the dances are not solidified, but the seniors are as follows:

Instrumental Recital
It takes place on May 21st, at 7:00 pm in the auditorium. Similar to the other strands, each senior performs a solo piece on their chosen instruments, and then at the end, they all come together for a group arrangement. A lineup of songs and performers are as follows:
