I am a major mango lover. Anything with mango in it, food or drink or aesthetic, I easily fall in love with. So when I found out there was a place called “Mango Mango,” located in the Brenneman Farm Marketplace, I was eager to give it a visit.
Now, I’d heard of Mango Mango (Dessert) since I was in middle school, but my visit was delayed due to a spotty memory and a certain global pandemic. It was only last year that I finally checked it out, and boy do I regret not going sooner.
Walking inside, my first impression could be summed up into two words: clean and cute. The shop’s interior, with sleek white tables, minimal wall decor, and an overall light color palette, gave a modern if not simple feel.
Although it was too crowded to take a picture of the whole interior, I managed to snap shots of its two most notable features.
For interior design, I give a 9/10.
I also love Mango Mango’s atmosphere. The background music ranged from relaxing jazz to recognizable or foreign pop songs, both of which amplified my enjoyment.
The music, along with the kind customer service, helped make it a comfortable place to talk and catch up with friends. Or have an outing with family, as I recently did with my mom. (She also loved it, by the way.)
The only downside to going here is that it’s often crowded because it’s so popular, especially on the weekends. Several tables were filled by the time my mom and I got there and it was loud because of the concurrent conversations. This is why I recommend going at a less busy time if you really want to enjoy a peaceful chat with friends.
For atmosphere, I give a 9/10.
And last but certainly not least, the food. I love, love, love the desserts and drinks from here! Or at least, the ones I’ve tried from the extensive menu.
DISCLAIMER: not all the menu options have mangos, for better or for worse, and everything you order will be good. Options range from various smoothies, crepe cakes, fruit sundaes, fruit juice bowls, warm (dessert) soups, mochi, healthy teas, pancakes, and crepes.
Although I order something different every time, I haven’t tried all the different menu categories. (The warm dessert soups will have to wait till winter.) Regardless, everything I’ve ordered so far has felt like a special treat for my taste buds.
From among what I’ve ordered before, I especially recommend the Matcha Red Bean Sundae, Matcha Crepe Cake, Mango Strawberry Ice Cream Bowl with Sago and Lychee Jelly, and Watermelon Smoothie-o.
If you’re worried about price, then I would say this isn’t a place you would want to visit every day. But you do get what you pay for, if not more.
For food, I give a 10/10.
So overall, I give Mango Mango a 9.75/10 and would highly recommend anyone with a sweet tooth and disregard for their dentist’s feelings to give this place a shot.
