Testing coordinator Mr. Bradley Watahovich
What brought you to Salem?
After five fulfilling years at Tallwood High School, where I taught Social Studies and coached the boys’ varsity soccer team, I was excited to join Salem High. Salem’s commitment to student academic excellence and fostering a strong sense of well-being made it a perfect fit for me. I wanted to be part of a school community that values both achievement and inclusivity, which Salem is renowned for.
What are some things that you enjoy about working here so far?
I’ve been truly impressed by how welcoming the faculty and students have been. From the moment I stepped in, I felt like part of a team that was passionate about education. The energy in the halls, whether it is students discussing a project or preparing for an event, shows the vibrancy of learning here. What stands out the most is the strong culture of inclusivity—everyone has a voice, and that creates a positive atmosphere for both staff and students.
Could you explain your basic responsibilities at Salem?
As the coordinator for testing and tutoring at Salem, my main responsibility is to ensure that all students have the resources they need to succeed academically. This involves organizing standardized testing, overseeing intervention programs, and facilitating tutoring sessions. I work closely with teachers and staff to identify areas where students may need additional support and create targeted strategies to help them thrive.
What are activities/hobbies you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I love staying active and creative. You’ll often find me surfing on the weekends, which helps me recharge. I’m also an avid reader and enjoy experimenting in the kitchen—especially with new recipes. Soccer is a big part of my life, both playing and coaching, and I’m a die-hard Manchester City fan.
What do you want the Salem community to know about you?
I want the Salem community to know that I am deeply committed to helping every student reach their full potential. Whether it’s through academics, extracurricular activities, or personal development, my goal is to support and uplift each student. I believe in creating an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to succeed.
