The football team is off to a strong start with wins against Landstown and Kempsville. Players started practice over the summer with weeks of training to become stronger for the season.
“Football is an interesting sport because you can get somewhere in life with football, get offers and you can play college football,” said freshman JV football player Myles Morado.
The long practices can be grueling, but players say they are worth it.
“Football practice is good because that’s how I get better at football,” said Morado. “Saturday practices are not that bad because it’s only a two hour practice and it’s only 9-11 so you can still enjoy your weekend.”
Freshman Josiah Razeeq plays for both JV and Varsity. He acknowledges that they do have to practice a lot, but says it’s worth it.
“I love football and I’m not a quitter,”said Razeeq. “If you want to get offers or go pro, you have to practice. You skip practice and you have to give them an explanation why you were not there.”
The team takes on Ocean Lakes at the Homecoming game on October 18th. They will play Cox, Tallwood, and Princess Anne to finish out their season; come out to support your football players.
