We welcomed a brand new Advanced Placement Coordinator and Guidance Counselor who has already proven himself to be a hard worker and a positive role model, Mr. Bryan Everett. He is not only good at his job, but he truly enjoys being a part of our school’s community.
“Salem is truly a special place,” said Everett. “The family connection at Salem High School is truly amazing. Every time I walk through the halls, I see the kindness, love and compassion that makes Salem a great place to be. I can honestly say, I’ve found my new family and home.”
Everett previously worked at Ocean Lakes High School for 14 years before transferring to Plaza Middle School. A year later, he decided to apply here.
“My heart would not let go of high school,” said Everett. “I missed it tremendously, and I decided that I needed to return to my happy place.”
Everett has made a name for himself among both teachers and students.
“From day one, Mr. Everett has been a pleasure to work with, very cheerful, kind and energetic,” said social studies teacher Jennifer Mechling.
One of Everett’s favorite aspects of his job is getting to know students and working with teachers on behalf of his students.
“I appreciate how proactive Mr. Everett is, especially with the seniors. He gets out of his office, smiles and makes every effort to get to know Salem staff and students,” said Mechling.
Everett has already built strong relationships and helped upperclassmen to prepare for life after high school.
“[From] my experience, he makes it very easy to have someone to talk to,” said senior Ella May Livingston.
Everett is dedicated to making all of his students feel supported.
“He brings a very kind open minded energy to this school that is often very difficult to come by,” said Livingston. In a little over a month, Everett has made quite the positive impression. Be sure to say hello if you see him in the hallway.
