Many fast food places around the world have collaborations with different companies. Starbucks in Singapore has Hello Kitty, and McDonald’s has Genshin Impact. When thinking of this, I tried to think back to when Dunkin had any distinct character collabs. Once I figured out they hadn’t, I was inspired to make my own inspired by the show Strawberry Shortcake. Full disclosure: I work at Dunkin.
This simple line consists of five small-sized drinks based on the main characters from the 2009 rendition: Strawberry Shortcake, Orange Blossom, Lemon Meringue, Plum Pudding, Blueberry Muffin, and Raspberry Torte.
Strawberry Shortcake
In the show, Shortcake is an upbeat character. She works as the town’s baker and always knows how to solve any issue. The drink I made represents the joy she brings to Berry Bitty City.
For Strawberry, I made a Strawberry Matcha Lemonade. The pink, yellow, and green in the drink represent her color scheme, and the tart and fruity flavor is reminiscent of a bright summer day.
This drink is a small Iced Dunkin lemonade with one pump of strawberry Coollata syrup, two pumps of liquid cane sugar, and one scoop of matcha powder. To start, I mixed a bit of lemonade and liquid cane. In a separate cup, I mixed matcha powder and a tad bit of water to get it to a liquid consistency.
To assemble, I did one squirt of Strawberry syrup at the bottom, filled it up with lemonade, and topped it with matcha.
Orange Blossom
In the show, Orange Blossom runs the town’s grocery store. She is a down-to-earth character who makes sure all of the characters are on the right track and ultimately not too outlandish.
Due to the lack of orange-flavored pumps at Dunkin, I decided to make a drink that goes off of the vibe her store in the show gives. Using the winter menu flavors, I made a Caramel White chocolate latte. This drink has that authentic fall taste that could be enjoyable for anyone.
This drink is a small iced latte with two pumps of Caramel, one pump of Toasted White Chocolate, two liquid cane sugars, one shot of espresso with cookie butter cold foam, caramel, and cinnamon sugar on top.
Lemon Meringue
Lemon Meringue is tasked with running the town salon. She is known to be an energetic and upbeat character whose ideas can be outlandish at times. She tends to balance out Orange Blossom’s calm appearance.
For Lemon Meriengue’s drink, I decided to make a frozen mango pineapple lemonade. The bright yellow color from the mango pineapple concentrate adds color to the drink and makes the lemonade less tart.
To make this drink, I filled the small cup up with 2/3s lemonade before placing it in the blender with ice and two pumps of liquid cane sugar to get its icy texture. I then dumped the frozen lemonade back into the cup and topped it off with the concentrate.
Blueberry Muffin
In the show, Blueberry Muffin owns the store’s library. Her character is normally characterized as being the smartest in Itty Bitty City.
For Blueberry Muffin’s drink, I made a White Chocolate Blueberry Iced coffee. This iced coffee sort of gives the vibe of going into her bookstore. This drink is a small iced coffee with two pumps of Toasted white chocolate, two blueberry shots, three cream, and three sugar, all topped with cold foam and blue raspberry drizzle.
Plum Pudding
Plum Pudding is known for running the town’s dance studio. She tends to be carefree and upbeat.
For Plum Puddings drink, I made a Mixed berry milkshake. This iced drink is composed of ice, cream, one pump of blue raspberry, one pump of blueberry, one pump of blueberry, one pump of strawberry, and two pumps of vanilla bean. Then, I blended it, cupped it, and topped it with whipped cream.
Raspberry Tarte
Raspberry Tarte is the fashionista of the town. She runs the boutique and is known to cook up some new ideas.
For Raspberry Tarte’s drink, I made a Raspberry Iced latte. This drink is based on the overall vibe of her character. The tartness reminds me of the treat her character is named after.
This small iced drink is made with two pumps of raspberry, two pumps of French vanilla, two pumps of liquid cane sugar, milk, and espresso. On top, it is swirled with whipped cream, strawberry drizzle, and matcha powder.
