“999” is a set of numbers that is quite recognizable, but what exactly do they mean? Some people know what they stand for, and some have no clue. “999” is the sign that the legendary artist Jarad Anthony Higgins, more commonly known as “Juice WRLD,” used to represent his look on overcoming adversity through life.
On the TV show MTV’s TRL, JUICE WORLD said, “999 means taking whatever ill, whatever bad situation, whatever struggle you’re going through and turning it into something positive to push yourself forward…Everybody stay positive, no matter how negative life gets.”
Juice WRLD used his adverse moments to push him to do something better, and he encouraged his fans and listeners to do the same, but he lost his personal battle and passed away from a drug overdose on December 8th, 2019.
According to an interview with The Corner, Eminem said, “This kid was so talented.” Due to Eminem being a huge mainstream artist, giving credit to Juice WRLD was very meaningful to honoring Juice WRLD’s legendary short life. Other artists such as Polo G, Lil Yachty, Lil Bibby, and more have made several comments on Juice WRLD’s raw talent.
“I think Juice WRLD was extremely ahead of his time for his ability to freestyle seamlessly and make songs in mere minutes,” said senior Christian Carroll. “He shared his struggles through his music and as the saying goes, ‘He saved millions but couldn’t save himself.’”
Carroll still listens to Juice WRLD on a semi-regular basis.
Overall, Juice WRLD has left a lasting impression on many, including other famous artists. Although his life was short, millions of people still turn to his music to help push and motivate themselves through times of adversity.
