In 2006, Roblox was founded as a game to fuel the imagination of kids who shared an interest in both Robots and Lego Blocks. Over the years, the user base of Roblox has grown, and with it has come the genre of fashion games. As more unique graphics arose, so did the new and upcoming genre of these games. Like all updating Roblox games, the old ones start to flow into nostalgia, and the new ones take over the front page.
Top Model
“Top Model” was purposely made to give people who don’t have many Robux (in-game currency) the chance to test many expensive items without having to pay anything. Due to this aspect, it became the first notable Roblox fashion game.
Though this game was made in 2014, it started to gain popularity in 2015, joining the charts with “Natural Disaster Survival” and “Bake a Cake.” The simplicity of this game makes it easy for people of all ages to play,
Once the game starts, it selects 1-3 people from the server to act as the Judge. Their job is to judge each of the individual outfits. The rest of the people in the server will play as designers, people who make their outfits. Each player will have two minutes to run around and put objects around the lobby regarding the theme that typically is displayed at the top of the screen.
When the two minutes are up, each player has the chance to show themselves to the judges. Each judge gives their opinion of the outfit in the chat.
Like most Roblox games, there is an in-game purchase option. This game’s option is a simple VIP for 30 Robux. This option allows more options for hair, pants, and shirts to equip when playing the game.
Design It!
Once the “Roblox Top Model” hype died down, people started to flock towards “Design it.” This game has more colorful and childlike graphics associated with it. “Design it” was created in the middle of 2016 but started gaining popularity on YouTube in 2017.

Each round of the game is five minutes long, and once it starts, both the theme and budget are released to the players. Unlike “Top Model,” you get a catalog, and using your budget, you can buy individual items to go towards your outfit.
Once the time is up, all of the players are automatically sent to the stage r to vote for their favorite outfit. Whatever outfits gain the most votes stand on the podium once the voting is over.
This game also has a VIP section where you can unlock new items for 1,000 Robux.
Fashion Famous (formerly known as Fashion Frenzy)
Around the same time “Design it” came out, there was another fashion game released called “Fashion Frenzy,” which was later renamed to “Fashion Famous” in 2018. Though this game was made around the same time as “Design It,” it stayed popular for much longer due to its frequent updates and newer features.
Much like “Top Model,” you run around a lobby full of items based upon a theme and click them to put each item on. Instead of the same setup for each four-minute round, the clothing items in the lobby reset, giving you more variety in the outfits you can choose.
Once the round is over, each player gets their own moment on the runway, and you have the option to give them anywhere between one to five stars based on how much they fit the theme. Once all the votes are counted, the top three players are placed on a podium.

Like all Roblox fashion games, there is a VIP option that you can buy for 399 Robux, which gives you more access to clothing in the game. As well as VIP, there are options for more hats (99 robux), premium hair (149 robux for packs 1 and two or 250 for pack 3), and more emotes (49 robux).
Sunset Island (in Royale High)
Around 2017, Royale High was released as a roleplaying game where anyone could dress as a fairy, mermaid, or any mythical creature under the sun. Inside this game were many different mini-games, a school roleplay section, a trading hub, and a fashion game called Sunset Island.
In this game, they give you a theme and ten minutes to create an outfit from your purchased wardrobe. If you have not purchased any wings, skirts, heels, or bodices, the game provides you with default clothes you may use for free.

Once the ten minutes have passed, there is a brief interview section before heading to voting, which attempts to replicate a real pageant. Each contestant gets a moment to walk down the runway before you get the ability to vote for your three favorite outfits using a rose. For each rose you give out, you get 30 diamonds (Royale High Currency), but if you refuse to give them out, they are given to other contestants.
After all the votes are tallied, they announce the top three places. The third-place winner gains 400 diamonds and 100 experience, second place gains 600 diamonds and 200 experience, and first place gains 1,000 diamonds and 300 experience.
Dress to Impress
One of the most recent and popular Roblox games is “Dress to Impress.” This game was made in December of 2023 but most recently gained popularity in 2024 due to the rise of Roblox YouTubers like Caseoh.
This game is popular for its increased graphics as well as the detailing and Lore between the characters.
In the game, you get six minutes to create an outfit based on a theme. In these six minutes, you need to choose outfit pieces and color them, create a face, and adjust hair and nails. Once the time is up, each character has a brief moment to show their avatar while they are being rated on a scale from one to five stars. Once the stars are tallied, there is a podium of three people.

Even though the gameplay is simple, there is complex lore surrounding the game. In one of the older updates, the nail tech, Lana, was seen to have a notebook surrounding her, complaining on how nobody acknowledges her as anything other than the nail tech. As updates went on, her character disappeared from her chair and started to appear around the Dress to Impress map. She also started to appear in other Roblox games, asking people to free her from the game.
Later on, during the Halloween update, Lana was temporarily replaced by a new nail tech, Lina. Once the update was done, Lana returned to her position as a nail tech as if nothing happened.
Most recently, “Dress to Impress” released a new game mode called “Style Showdown” that works as an elimination round for players.
Just like most Roblox games, “Dress to Impress” has its fair share of game passes. There is a Temporary VIP for 399 robux, Permanent VIP for 799 robux, custom makeup for 349 robux, and increased walking speed for 149 robux.
It Girl
Around the same time as “Dress to Impress,” “It Girl” was released, a cute and doll-like version of “Dress to Impress.” Though it is less known than some of the other fashion games, “It Girl” joined the front page of Roblox in 2024.
This game functions the exact same way “Dress to Impress” does but with fewer limitations on how many objects you can layer on top of one another.
The VIP feature for this game is 599 Robux.

If you would like to try any of the games for yourself, Roblox is available to download on tablets, phones, X-box, PC, and PlayStation.
