At the end of the 2024 school year, the junior class voted on their new president, Chloe Pastrana. This is her first year as a class officer.
Pastrana decided to run for president after noticing a disconnect in her junior year.
“I could sense a strong divide being created in the 2026 class; I really wanted to fix it and create a strong community for our last year,” said Pastrana.
To start the year strong, she and her other class officers organized Senior Sunrise, an event that took place the weekend before school.

“It was a really awesome experience and it was nice to see everyone that I didn’t get a chance to hang out with over the summer before the craziness of senior year hit,” said senior Mirabelle Malone. (Photos by: K. Cabanayan)
Organizing Senior Sunrise was just one of many responsibilities Pastrana has been tasked with as class president. She is accountable for communication between the class council, teachers, coaches, advisors, and sometimes presidents from other schools.
“[As president], I help coordinate events alongside the specific event’s chairholder. I have to come up with new ideas and also make sure to keep the old ones, while also acknowledging everyone else’s and advocating for those ideas,” said Pastrana.
The president and her class officers also organized the Senior Taco stand during the annual Fall Fest. Senior Famela Macaraeg, the class office communications officer who also attended, only has positive remarks about Pastrana’s impact as president.

“Chloe is the epitome of an energetic and inspiring student president,” said Macaraeg. “It is clear to anyone that her ability to lead the senior class during our last year of this school, whether it be planning social events or proposing ideas, shows her greatest ability to pilot her fellow seniors. Her eminent personality is why I couldn’t have asked for a better leader.”
She is passionate about her tasks of organizing, planning, and fundraising; she has goals of arranging Prom and Senior Sunset, among other events.
“I want everyone to feel as though they contribute and belong to the community. I also want to create a fun and memorable senior year, and I am willing to push for anyone’s ideas/events in order to make the year exciting,” said Pastrana.
Outside of class office, Chloe aims to put her best foot forward in all she is involved in throughout the school, including the Filipino American Cultural Society (FACS), the French Honor Society, the Yearbook Club, and Girls Lacrosse. Her favorite part of the senior year is the memories.
“My fondest memories with Chloe are from when she tried stealing the spirit stick during the fall pep rally. Everyone was laughing, and somehow she managed to turn what could’ve been embarrassing into one of the funniest moments. She knows how to make people smile and bring positive energy wherever she goes,” said Senior Kiana Cabanayan.
Being an avid member of so many organizations can lead to a lot of stress, but the class president has learned techniques and time management skills to stay on top of all her commitments.
“I have a big planner where I list all the upcoming events, tests, assignments due, and meetings. I also make lists of everything that I need to finish before the end of the day,” said Pastrana, regarding her work ethic. “The biggest ‘help’ would just be adapting the mentality of loving what you do and who you do it with. I thoroughly enjoy my responsibilities and many of my classes, so the work rarely feels draining but just more motivating.”
Next time you see an event run by the senior class, know that Chloe Pastrana was the mastermind behind it!
