The annual SuperBowl is not only known for the game itself, but also for the memorable and creative commercials.
“Although I don’t really enjoy commercials that much, I make an exception every year for the SuperBowl because they’re so fresh, new, and actually entertaining,” said junior Deangelo Frias.
This year Disney took part in the million dollar competition of advertisements, showcasing snippets of their upcoming superhero shows for their streaming platform.
The shows include The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and WandaVision.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, directed by Kari Skogland, follows Bucky Barnes’ and Sam Wilson’s continued journey after the Avengers: EndGame. In the short clips they showcase Captain America’s shield, which he handed off to them after time traveling and saving the world. The series also brings back characters from the Marvel Universe like Sharon Carter and Helmut Zemo.
According to Digital Trend’s website, Loki will have the Asgardian God back and better than ever. The show also takes place after the Avengers: EndGame where his duplicate roams the world and he may or may not be causing mischief. There wasn’t much to the preview, but it is likely to be released during 2021 and is produced by Kevin Feige. Feige is the current president of Marvel Studios, who produced upcoming movies Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Black Widow, Black Panther 2, and more.
WandaVision is directed by Matt Shakham and is also expected to be released sometime this year. This short trailer showcases heros Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) and Vision and their relationship. The trailer shows them going through many wardrobe changes through different periods of time.
“I’m really excited to see what Marvel has in store next for the fans, especially after the EndGame move,” said senior Daniel Simmons. “There were so many things I wanted to know right away about the characters, but I had to wait until now.”
