Movies to watch while stuck at home
These classics will keep you entertained and socially distanced

With the coronavirus threatening the world of social interaction, most people are left stuck in the house wondering what their next plan of action should be. Sometimes the best way to pass time is by claiming a seat on your couch, grabbing some snacks and a drink, and watching a good movie. I have composed a few of my favorite movies to watch during our time indoors.
First on the list is Inception. Why Inception? Because it is a perfect example of well-done sci-fi cinema. The plot is a rollercoaster ride that never ends, from start to finish there’s something in each scene that keeps you waiting for the next event to unfold. With performances from top tier actors and actresses such as Leonardo Dicaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page and more. In this film, Leonardo Dicaprio runs a small gang of thieves that has the ability to enter into other people’s dreams and steal their secrets for self profit. Christopher Nolan does an amazing job directing and provides beautiful shots. Without a doubt, this movie will leave you wanting more. I give it a solid 9/10.
Second on the list is The Gentleman, One of the most underrated Guy Ritchie films to ever hit theaters. With lead stars Matthew McConaughey and Charlie Hunnam, the characters display fun personalities with witty dialogue and an original plot that pulls you in with every scene. As Mickey Pearson decides to cash out of his drug dealing business, word gets out and causes for a slew of schemes and events to unfold. The Gentleman has unique storytelling because of how eccentric the characters are and a story that unfolds unlike any other on the big screen. I give The Gentleman an 8/10.
Next up is yet another Christopher Nolan film, Interstellar. Interstellar is a trippy sci-fi adventure movie starring none other than everyone’s favorite, Matthew McConaughey. In this two hour and 49 minute joy ride through the unknowns of space, a group of bottom of the barrel astronauts are sent on a mission to find another habitable planet as Earth slowly runs out of food and humanity begins to near extinction. This film does an amazing job of explaining the physics of space and possibilities for future findings in space and has an amazing score that ties the movie in every scene perfectly, composed by Hans Zimmer. I give it an 8/10
For a more light hearted movie, Spiderman into the Spider Verse offers a more family friendly easy storytelling approach for a movie night. It follows Miles Morales’ journey as he becomes the spiderman of his New York City which soon becomes a pin point for other Spidermen from different dimensions as they try to take down Kingpin who is the cause of this dimensional swap. Sony Animation did an amazing job and provides a great first on screen Miles Morales Spiderman. The voice acting and music are key positives to this movie and the plot is a comic book original that fans have wanted to see on the big screen for years. The team that worked on this movie knew their source material well and most importantly knew what the fans wanted: 9/10.
