Q: What is your favorite food from your culture and why do you enjoy it?

A: I think my favorite food is a noodle dish called pancit. Not only does it taste good, but it brings me back to my childhood and gives me comfort because it always reminds me of Filipino family gatherings. It just gives me a very happy nostalgic feeling that I love.

A: My favorite food is bulgogi which is a korean bbq dish which is kind of sweet and smokey. It’s embellished with its own “bulgogi sauce” and it’s so good with kimchi and gochujang (which is red pepper paste).

A: It is called Arroz con gandules (rice with peas). It is my favorite because it is something that my family has made ever since I was young. It is very delicious.

Q: What is your culture?

A: I am from Senegal.

Q: What is your favorite food from your culture and why do you enjoy it?

A: My favorite dish is a senegalese dish called thiebou yapp. It’s my favorite because it’s a very complete dish. It’s cooked with rice, lots of meat, and vegetables. You can infinitely customize it in your own way and when it’s cooked perfectly, you can cry of joy while eating it.
