On January 27, 2023, K-pop group TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) released their 5th studio album titled The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION. The project consists of five songs, including one with a Coi Leray feature. As I was listening to the album, I rated each song based off the following: melody, placement, and composition.

Song 1: “Devil by the Window”

This is the only song on the album that is completely in English and I felt like it was a great way to start it off. The lyrics are engaging and the melody was catchy enough for me to want to continue listening to the album. I would give this song an 8/10.

Song 2: “Sugar Rush Ride”

Within the first five seconds of the song, I immediately fell in love with the beat and melody. This song gave me a nostalgic summer feel, which was something I was not expecting, but I was not upset about it. This song was definitely one of my favorites off the album, so I give it a 10/10.

Song 3: “Happy Fools” (feat. Coi Leray)

This track was not one of my favorites on the project, but I do believe it fits the vibe of the overall album. I felt like this song was lacking the hype and energy that the rest of the songs on the album had. Coi Leray’s verse was nice and her voice fits the track nicely, but in my personal opinion, I think Doja Cat would have been the perfect feature for this song. I give this song a 6/10.

Song 4: “Tinnitus” (Wanna be a rock)

This song has a slower vibe than the rest of the album and I feel like the placement is a little off. I think this song should have been swapped with “Happy Fools” to give the album a breather in between the more energetic songs. I do enjoy the flow and beat of the song and it is something I could play in the background while I get work done. I would give this song an 8/10.

Song 5: “Farewell, Neverland”

This song is a great way to end the project off. The energy is still there, but it is mellowed out a little bit to signify the end of the album. The melody felt a little basic and it is definitely overused but it felt appropriate for the end. I would give this song a 7/10.
