Carla Roby, Managing Editor

Well, folks, it’s the last stretch in the class of 2023’s senior season, and it all seems to be happening at once. Like we’re in the eye of a hurricane while college decisions, scholarships, AP exams, senior projects, and all the money in our wallets goes towards prom and graduation. It can feel overwhelming to say the least, and it helps to have a simple list to break it down.

Prom is on June 3 at The Founders Inn at 7 PM. Tickets are currently on sale. Prices started at $65 and will go all the way up to $95.

Final academy shows are Theatre: May 17 and 18, Dance June 1, Instrumental _, Vocal May 26, Visual May 12. These are the VPAA seniors’ final projects they’ve worked on all year to showcase all they have learned the past four years.

Yearbooks: the final chance to buy them will be around the last week of May and first week of June.

Academy graduation is on June 6 in the auditorium at 4PM.

Senior awards will be June 8 at 6:30PM in auditorium

Senior day is the last day of school for seniors on June 9. This day is mandatory because there will be a graduation rehearsal.  Schedule for the day:

  • 7:30 – Grad practice in cafeteria
  • 9:00 – Senior Ceremony in auditorium
  • 10:30 – Panoramic Picture
  • 11:00 – Senior Day Activities
  • 1:00 – Grad Walk (visiting elementary schools)

Graduation Practice June 12 at 3:00 PM at Virginia Beach Convention Center

Gradfest hosted by the PTSA will take place on June 13 at Apex from 10 PM to 5 AM. The cost of tickets is currently $65 dollars.

The curtains are beginning to close on this school year, class of 2023! Congratulations and best of luck to your future!
