If you’re in Virginia Beach and looking for something sweet that differs from your usual ice cream, Beach Towne Water Ice Company is the place to go. It’s especially good on a hot day if you are looking for something cold and refreshing. It is the perfect place to go with family and friends if you’re interested in trying a new dessert spot, or even if you’re just in need of a sweet treat.
Beach Town Water Ice Company is a taste of Philadelphia water ice in Virginia Beach. Their website states that their goal is “to create a product that embodies the spirit of summer fun, blending the finest ingredients with traditional methods to offer a unique and unforgettable flavor experience.”
Since my family and I are from the West Philadelphia area, we have been on a constant hunt for some authentic Philadelphia water ice, and we think we may have found the spot.
I will be rating the establishment based on: overall ambiance, taste and flavor quality, consistency and texture, staff friendliness and service, cleanliness and organization, and location and convenience.
Overall ambiance: (8/10). Upon entry, there was an overall welcoming atmosphere, bright lighting, interesting artwork on the walls, and merchandise hanging up on the walls.
Taste and flavor quality (10/10). The flavors are very rich and delicious. The fruity flavors are my personal favorite; they are sweet, and the flavor is very prominent in all of the different fruit-based flavors. They also have other flavors, including root beer, bubble gum, cotton candy, and orange creamsicle, which are also delicious and rich.
Consistency and texture (9/10). The consistency of the water ice is smooth. It is firmer than a slushie, but smoother than a granita. Beach Town Ice differs from Italian ices because it has more of a velvety consistency.
Staff friendliness & service (10/10). As a first impression of the establishment, they were very welcoming in a friendly yet professional manner. This helps create a warm and welcoming environment to dine in.
Cleanliness and organization (7/10). The place is very clean and put together, which also helps create a great atmosphere within the establishment. The tables and floors maintained a standard of cleanliness.
Location and convenience (8/10). It’s located in a suite right off of Virginia Beach Boulevard. Due to its location, I feel as though many people might not know about the place, since it’s not visible on the road.
After rating everything from taste to texture, I’d give Beach Towne Water Ice a 9 out of 10. Beach Towne Water Ice Company captures the fun beachy spirit of Virginia Beach while bringing a small taste of Philadelphia to town. With its delicious flavors, bright ambiance, and amazing customer service, it’s an ideal spot for anyone craving something cold and refreshing. It is absolutely worth trying. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Beach Towne Ice is going to make you come back for another scoop.
