Beignets & Brew is a dessert and coffee shop that opened its first Virginia Beach location in late 2025. The menu includes classic beignets, which are French donut pastries topped with powdered sugar, ice cream sundaes, coffee, tea, smoothies, and other sweet treats.
The items that I tried were the traditional beignets and beignet ice cream sundae, and I will be rating the flavor and presentation, as well as the overall vibe of the shop.
To start, first impressions went well. The interior was appealing to the eyes and well lit. There are lots of colorful decorations and fun furniture that fill up the space in an effective way. It’s a great place for taking pictures for posting or just to preserve memories. I would rate the vibe a 10/10; it is very inviting and cute.
The first item I tried was the Old Fashioned Beignet Sundae. It was a classic ice cream sundae with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate syrup, and beignets. The sundae tasted very good, and the vanilla ice cream complemented the warm beignets. The sweetness was a bit overwhelming, though, since the beignets also had powdered sugar sprinkled on top. I would rate the flavor 8/10 and the presentation 9/10. The sundae came out quickly after ordering, which was a plus.
The second item I tried was the traditional beignets. They were sprinkled with an incredibly generous amount of powdered sugar, which got a little messy but was very delicious. They were also a good size, able to be eaten in multiple big bites. I liked how sweet and fluffy the beignets were. I would give the flavor of the beignets a 9/10 and the presentation 10/10.
“[Beignets & Brew] would be a good place to hang out with friends after school,” said senior Sophia Sparkman. “It’s not that expensive and is pretty close to the school (about 10 minutes away).”
Overall, it was a nice dessert place, delivering not only quality desserts, but also an excellent atmosphere. If you’re ever craving a sweet dessert, I suggest you check out what Beignets & Brew has to offer.
