Many seniors are excited about their next step, while also very nervous. Some are asking questions like “What if I don’t like my roommate?” “What if I can’t make any friends?” Well, there’s an app for that.
IGOTIN is an app where you can sign up for the different schools you got accepted to, and join different groups, such as class of 2030, all classes, anonymous, and you can even join a group for the different dorm halls.
When you first enter the app, the words “peek into the future, meet your soon-to-be girls, partner, boys-for-life, and friends” are what you see.
Senior Nevaeh Mervin said the app brought her closer to deciding on a school because she could see who she could connect with.
“When I downloaded the app, I met a bunch of really cool people,” said Mervin.
The IGOTIN app is a great resource when looking for a roommate. You can get to know many people and learn things about them that can help you decide whether you’d be a good fit for roommates.
Senior Markus McCoy recently committed to Chicago State University. He joined the app and got to know many people.
“I think the app is great, I met other people who are on the football team and made friends using IGOTIN,” said McCoy. “IGOTIN helped me find a roommate and a small group of friends to connect with the second I get on campus.”
Many students also find that the app could be helpful when they need to find information about different universities.
“Using the people I met on the IGOTIN app, I was able to get the information I needed about the dance teams and student activities I plan to join,” said senior Aniya Wilson.
Many high school seniors don’t have much information about the activities and clubs they want to participate in college, such as tryout dates, student information, etc. Sometimes the universities’ websites can be overwhelming, but you have your fellow classmates, who can help you, and even groups of older classes you can reach out to as well.
The IGOTIN app might be worth taking a look at if you’re a graduating senior.
