We’re thrilled to introduce one of the newest faces joining the Salem High School family: Toni Bembridge, who has stepped into the role of a permanent substitute. As a recent veteran of ODU Public Relations, she is excited to bring organization to our students and community. We sat down with Toni Bembridge to learn more about her journey.
Q: What is your position at Salem?
A: Site-Based Substitute
Q: Where were you previously, and what brought you to Salem?
A: Previously, I was at ODU Public Relations.
What brought me to Salem:
It’s one of the great schools in Virginia Beach.
It’s clean and not too far from where I live. No longer wanted to travel to Norfolk every day.
Or pay $500.00 for parking
The area it is located in is a nice area.
I didn’t want to work until 5:00 pm anymore.
Wanted a more flexible schedule, as a substitute, I wanted HS hours.
I have worked at Salem HS before as a site-based Substitute
Only a few reasons!
Q: What is your favorite thing about Salem so far?
A: Organized, well-run, and the staff is fully for student success!
Q: What inspired you to go into education?
A: I am a lifelong learner, and I always want to learn new things and stay on top of what is going on.
Q: Share a fun fact about yourself.
A: Plants, reading, and dreaming!
I also work at the central Library on Virginia Beach Blvd, and I am sorely INTROVERTED!
