What is your role here at Salem?
My role here is Security.
Where were you previously, and what brought you to Salem?
I worked at Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office for 17 years and transferred to the Juvenile Detention Center for 16 years until I retired on 11-01-2024. I started out as a sub and worked at various schools, and I was asked by Mr. Whitehead to come and assist with security as a sub. I was asked by Ms. Dee to come on as Part-time and I accepted the position.
What is your favorite thing about Salem so far?
Working with some friendly people and the students are so warm and welcoming.
What inspired you to go into education?
I have a Bachelors of Science and my family is big on furthering your education to be a competitive candidate to moving up.
What is a fun fact about yourself (favorite music, hobbies, books)?
I enjoy listening to music and my hobby is gardening.
