Chick-fil-A’s newest menu items, frosted sodas and floats, are currently taking the world by storm. Though some restaurants had these items previously, it is now a mandatory item in every establishment, allowing guests from all over the nation to experience these tasty treats.
Hugging the border between liquid and solid, the floats apply a sweet, tasty, flexible aspect to the timeless, beloved root beer float. The frosted sodas, similar to the frosted lemonades and coffees, turn your favorite crisp beverage into a tasty milkshake-esc dessert.
The closest Chick-fil-A to Salem, Chick-fil-A at Salem Crossing, is one of the restaurants that had previously not had this menu item. With the release of it, not only has business been increasing, but guests have also been happier… most likely due to the new variety these menu items give.
“So many guests love these new treats, and I don’t blame them,” said Supervisor Raeya Moehring. “Anna is a team member at our restaurant, and she drinks at least one frosted diet Dr. Pepper a day, sometimes more. One day, I decided to try it, and I realized why she loves them so much. Drinking my frosted diet Dr. Pepper felt like floating on a cloud, and it took me back to my childhood in Stanton, Virginia, where I would make snow ice cream with my family all the time.”
In a poll done between 8am and 10am at the Salem Crossing Chick-fil-A drive through, 35 people said that they have tried one of two treats and enjoyed them, with 75% of those guests preferring frosted sodas over floats. Interestingly enough, the most common soda is Dr. Pepper.
From a recent poll taken by Salem students, it has been revealed that only 32% of people have tried these tasty treats, and 70% of those students have stated that they enjoyed their purchase and are likely to get another one.
Unlike seasonal items, the frosted sodas and floats are here to stay, becoming the most recent permanent menu item after cheese sauce. The question is, will the purchases of these items go down after the newness wears off?
“These new menu items have definitely increased our sales,” said Salem Crossing Chick-fil-A restaurant director, Courtney Barr. “Of course, they were very popular when they first came out, but even now we’re experiencing a huge incline in profits simply because of these sweet treats. Looking towards summertime, we may require another employee to aid in the making of the desserts because we’re sure to see a sharp increase in the sales of these items.”
At the end of the day, these frosted sodas and floats are doing wonderful things for the business, and wonderful things in the hearts and lives of those who have tried them. A perfect addition to the menu, these tasty treats are sure to brighten anyone’s day. As the new Chick-fil-A saying goes, ‘Taste it, you’ll love it for good’.
