As of April 15th, the Visual Art Academy finished their annual Juried Show reception. Usually, the show takes place at MOCA; however, this year, due to their relocation, the show took place on the Virginia Wesleyan campus.

A nicely composed group of pieces: Ella Berdoulay’s, I Will Grow Wings; Isa’Bella Lucero’s, Held in memory; and Eva Grace Dixon’s, Ad Astra. (Photo by Becky Malone)
The show itself was the same as always: a wonderfully set-up display of all of the Academy’s finest art pieces. Visual Art Academy teachers Mellissa Schappell and Erin Richburg are still the faces of the event, giving heart-warming words of encouragement to their students, thanks to all who support the arts, and ultimately naming the winners.
